Fall is in the air and today we're launching the beautiful Wild Aster Collection!

Warm summer breezes have begun to cool, and daylight hours have started to shorten…tall grasses rustle in the wind preparing to make their way to seed, and leaves slowly begin their tumble to the ground to insulate the earth for the cooler upcoming season. Decorated crisscross card is 6" x 8". Start with a 12" x 12" sheet of Pearl White Metallic Cardstock and cut it in half. Score both pieces at 6" on the long side and adhere the two pieces together with dries clear adhesive so that you have a double center and a right and left flap. Use a paper trimmer to cut the right flap diagonally in half from the score line to the bottom right corner. Cut the left flap from the score line to the bottom left corner. Splitcoaststampers has a great crisscross card tutorial with photos here

Cut a 6 x 6 panel from Wild Aster Paper Collection, trim to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8", ink the edges using Archival Vibrant Fuchsia ink and adhere to the 6" x 6" section of the card. Cut a piece of dark fuchsia paper from the collection 5 7/8" x 5 7/8", cut in half diagonally, ink the edges and adhere to the two crisscross panels. Cut a 6 x 6” panel from the paper collection, trim to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4", cut in half diagonally, ink the edges with Vibrant Fuchsia Ink and adhere to the fuchsia designer paper. Use dries clear adhesive to seal the bottom of the pocket closed. Cut the Lacy Diamond Die from Pearl White cardstock and ink the edges with Vibrant Fuchsia ink. Using the third largest die from the Diamond Basics die set, cut from fuchsia designer paper and ink the edges. Stamp the sentiment from Special Birthday Sentiments Cling Stamp Set on pearl white cardstock using Vibrant Fuchsia ink, diecut using the plain die from the Lacy Diamond set and ink the edges. Adhere the two small diamonds together using dries clear adhesive and then adhere to the Lacy Diamond using dimensional squares. Adhere to the card front using dimensional squares.

Click on my name below to see more photos of the pocket insert. To create the pocket insert, cut white pearl cardstock 5 3/4" x 5 1/2". Cut the fuchsia designer paper to 5 5/8 x 5 3/8”, ink the edges and adhere to the white cardstock. Choose one of the 6" x 6" panels from the paper collection, cut it down to 5 1/2" x 5 1/4", ink the edges with Vibrant Fuchsia ink and adhere to the fuchsia designer paper. Cut fuchsia paper to 5 5/8" x 5 3/8" ink the edges and adhere to the back of the insert. Stamp the sentiment from Just For You Sentiments cling stamp and the spray from Wild Aster Spray cling stamp set on pearl white cardstock using Vibrant Fuchsia ink and adhere to the back of the insert. Use the Decorative Medallion outer die to cut two pieces of the designer paper. Adhere them back to back at the top of the insert panel. Diecut two of the Decorative Medallion dies from pearl white cardstock and adhere, one to the front and one to the back. Cut the “Have a Beautiful day” sentiment from the designer paper, cut fuchsia designer paper 3 1/8 x 1/8”, ink the edges of both, adhere together and adhere to the pocket insert. Place the insert inside the pocket.

Stamp Wild Asters on Deluxe Flower Shaping paper using Vibrant Fuchsia ink. Color with Magenta Hue ink, diecut using the coordinating dies and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Use three petals for the larger flowers and use two petals for the smaller flowers making sure to offset them. Using dries clear adhesive, add Lemon Chiffon Prills to the flower centers. Stamp the Wild Aster leaves on Deluxe Flower Shaping paper using Archive Olive ink, color using Leaf Green ink, diecut using the coordinating die, add color around the edges using Olive ink and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit. Sponge the flowers and the leaves with dries clear adhesive, sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter and adhere using the hot glue gun as shown.

Top Tip: Use the heat It Tool to shrink glue strings.

Stamp the border from the Butterfly Dreams Border Cling Stamp set on Flowerite Vellum using Frost White ink, sprinkle with WOW Clear Sparkle embossing powder, heat set using the Heat It tool, color using Vibrant Fuchsia ink and diecut using the coordinating die. For more tips on creating with the Oakberry Lane collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/HirfUN8NEYY.

Card size is 6 x 6”. Score and fold 12 x 6” white cardstock at 6” on the long side to create a tent fold card base. Cut candy cane paper from the Candy Cane Cottage Paper Collection 2x 5 7/8 x 5 7/8” and white cardstock 5 1/2 x 5 1/2”. Ink the edges of one if he candy cane squares and adhere to the inside of the card. Using small pieces of removable tape, temporarily adhere the other candy cane and the white layers together.Using the square die from Cut Mat Create 2B, cut an aperture in the center. Remove the tape and, using an embossing folder (I chose a woodgrain design) emboss the white layer. Ink the edges of both layers using Real Red ink and adhere together. Surround the aperture on the back side using dimensional adhesive. Add more dimensional tape around the edges of the mat layers.

Choose paper from the collection for the window scene, cut to 5 x 5” put dimensional dots in all four corners on the top of the scene and adhere to the dimensional tape on the back of the mat layers with the scene showing through the aperture. (It should fit in between the dimensional tape that’s on the edges.) Adhere the mat layers to the card base using dimensional tape. Add Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitterusing dries clear adhesive to some of the designs on the window scene. When dry, sprinkle some course glitter that looks like snow into the aperture as shaker material. Using the Cut Mat Create 2A die, cut clear cardstock and adhere to the top of the aperture using dries clear adhesive.

Stamp the large candy canes x4 from Season of Glee Cling Stamp Set on white cardstock using real red ink and diecut using coordinating die. All four candy canes should be facing the same way, so they have to be stamped and diecut one at a time. Diecut the candy cane again x12 from plain white cardstock and adhere three to each candy cane to create a stronger diecut. Spritz the four candy canes with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz – Sparkle. When dry, adhere the candy canes together around the shaker scene to create a frame.

Stamp the Christmas poinsettias on Real Red cardstock using VersaMark ink, cover with WOW Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter and heat set using the Heat It Tool. Stamp the holly leaves on Garden Green cardstock using VersaMark ink, cover with WOW Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter and heat set using the Heat It Tool. Place the poinsettias and holly leaves face down in the 3D Christmas Poinsettia Shaping Mold, spritz with water and run through the diecutting machine to shape. Use the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit to finish shaping. Adhere two petals together to create flowers. Sponge the poinsettias and holly leaves with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear. Add silver glass to the flower centers.

Adhere the poinsettias and holly to the bottom right of the candy cane frame. Cut a sentiment from the paper collection and adhere with dimensional tape to the card above the shaker window.
