Heartfelt Creations - Have a Boo-tiful birthday

Good morning and Happy Halloween.

My younger brother Johnny was born on Halloween and to top things off, he had red hair. lol. I made this Halloween Birthday card in remembrance of him, as we lost him several yeas ago to cancer. The Buttons and Blooms Collection worked perfectly for what I had in mind.

Instructions: Card size is 7 3/4 x 6 1/4”. Cut white cardstock 7 3/4 x 7”, score and fold at 3/4” on the short side. Cut a second piece of white cardstock 7 3/4 x 6 1/4”, adhere the two pieces together to create a hinged tent fold card base. Cut orange cardstock 7 1/2 x 6” and cut black cardstock 7 1/4 x 5 3/4”. Adhere together using dries clear adhesive and adhere to card base using the corrugated cardboard in between for dimension. Cut white cardstock 6 7/8 x 5 3/8”, dry emboss using any embossing folder and adhere to card base using dries clear adhesive.
Diecut the frame from orange cardstock using the two largest dies from the Hand-stitched Accents Die and, using dimensional tape, adhere to the left side of the card as shown. Using black cardstock, diecut the small frame from the Eyelet Lace Frames Die, spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz, let dry and adhere to card as shown. Stamp the sentiment on orange cardstock using VersaMark, sprinkle with black embossing powder and heat set using the Heat It Tool. Diecut using the smallest die from the Eyelet Lace Frames Die, ink the edges with Black Soot ink and adhere to the card base using dimensional dots.
Stamp the blooms and the buttons from the Buttons and Blooms Cling Stamp Seton orange cardstock using VersaMark, sprinkle with black embossing powder and heat set using the Heat It Tool. Diecut using the coordinating die and shape the flowers using the Groove Golf Tool Set and the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Spray the flowers and buttons with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz, let dry and then adhere two petals of the same size together with dries clear adhesive to create each flower. Adhere the buttons in the centers using small dimensional dots. Diecut the Arianna Lace flourishes from black cardstock, spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and let dry. Adhere the flowers and flourishes using a hot glue gun as shown.
Stamp the rickrack and patchwork hexagons from the Patchwork Pocket & Patterns Cling Stamp Set on black cardstock using VersaMark, sprinkle with orange embossing powder, heat set using the Heat It Tool and diecut using the coordinating dies. Spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz, let dry and adhere to card base as shown using dimensional dots. 
TOP TIP: To keep the hexagons straight, adhere them to a 5 1/4 x 3/4” strip of black cardstock using dries clear adhesive before adhering to card base. 
Make a bow from black sheer ribbon using the Bow-it-All, add a button to the center and adhere as shown using a hot glue gun.

Instructions: Card is 6 x 6”. Score and fold 12 x 6 white cardstock at 6” on the long side. Cut a 6 x 6” card front from the paper collection, ink the edges with cobalt blue ink and adhere to the card base using dries clear adhesive. Cut coordinating 6 x 6” panel from the paper collection, trim to 5 5/8 x 5 5/8”, ink the edges and adhere to the inside of the card. Using the Cut Mat Create 2A die, cut out the center of the card front and ink around the edges of the aperture.
Stamp the Patchwork Pocket on yellow cardstock using cobalt blue archival ink and diecut using the coordinating die. Adhere to the card base as shown using dimensional dots. Stamp the buttons on white cardstock using cobalt blue and Berrylicious inks, diecut using the coordinating die and spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

Stamp the Leafy Accents leaves on white cardstock using Archival Olive ink, color with the same ink and berrylicious ink, diecut using the coordinating dies and shape using the Leafy Accents Mold. Sponge with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter.

Stamp the blue blooms from the Buttons and Blooms stamp set on blue cardstock using Archival Cobalt Blue ink. Stamp the pink blooms on dark pink cardstock using ColorBox Berrylicious ink. Diecut using the coordinating die, shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Add the diecut buttons to the flower centers and the pocket using a dimensional dot.

Adhere the leaves and flowers to the card base as shown using a hot glue gun.

Cut the sentiment from the paper collection, ink the edges, lightly curve and adhere to the card base using dries clear adhesive.

Instructions: 
Card is 6 x 5”. Score and fold 12 x 5 1/2” white cardstock at 6” on the long side. Using the largest tag die from the Album Tags and Accent Die, cut the card base. Make sure the left side of the die is placed just past the fold. Cut another piece of white cardstock and the plaid paper from the collection also with the largest tag die. Adhere these two pieces together using dries clear adhesive. Using the two largest tag dies, cut a frame from white cardstock. Cut the fan shaped die from the Frame a Card Leafy Borders die from white cardstock. Sponge both of these diecuts with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with crystal ultrafine transparent glitter. Adhere the frame to the front as shown. Adhere the fan to back so that just part of it shows. Adhere this top tag to the card base. Cut another piece of the designer paper from the second largest tag die, ink with cobalt blue ink and adhere to the inside of the card.

Diecut the eyelet die from white cardstock using the Album Tags and Accents Die set. Stamp the sentiment on blue cardstock using VersaMark, sprinkle with WOW Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter and heat set using the Heat It Tool. Diecut using the inside die from the same die set, adhere to the white diecut using dries clear adhesive and then adhere to the card base using dimensional tape. 

Stamp the buttons on white cardstock using Sunflower ink and diecut using the coordinating die. Stamp the largest Bloom on yellow cardstock using Sunflower Archival ink, diecut using the coordinating die, shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit and adhere the two petals together to create one large flower, add a button to the center using a small dimensional dot and spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Sponge the petals with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter.

Stamp the Leafy Accents leaves on white cardstock using Archival Olive ink, color with the same ink, highlight with a little Berrylicious ink, diecut using the coordinating dies and shape using the Leafy Accents Mold. Spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and let dry. Sponge with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter.

Adhere the leaves and flower to the card base as shown using a hot glue gun. Punch a hole in the top of the card front and add a ribbon.

Instructions: Card size is 5 1/2” x 41/4”. Cut white cardstock 11” x 4 1/4”, score and fold at 5 1/2” to create a tent fold card base. Cut designer paper 5 3/8” x 4 1/8”. Using the two rectangular dies from the Hand Stitched Accents Die, cut a frame from blue cardstock. Adhere the frame on the designer paper using dries clear adhesive then adhere to the card base using dimensional tape. Cut a piece of the blue plaid designer paper, ink the edges with cobalt blue ink and adhere to the inside of the card.

Stamp the arrow and the happy birthday sentiment from the Hand-stitched Accents Cling Stamp Set on white cardstock using ColorBox Berrylicious ink and diecut using the coordinating die. Shape by hand and adhere to the card base using dries clear adhesive and dimensional dots.


Stamp the buttons on white cardstock using Sunflower, Berrylicious and Cobalt inks, diecut using the coordinating die and spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Adhere three to the card base as shown using dimensional dots and save three for the flower centers.

Stamp the Leafy Accents leaves on white cardstock using Archival Olive ink, color with the same ink and a little Berrylicious ink, diecut using the coordinating dies and shape using the Leafy Accents Mold. Spray with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and let dry. Sponge with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter.

Stamp the yellow blooms on yellow cardstock using Archival Sunflower ink. Stamp the blue blooms on blue cardstock using Archival Cobalt ink. Stamp the pink blooms on dark pink cardstock using ColorBox Berrylicious ink. Diecut using the coordinating die and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Add the diecut buttons to the flower centers using dimensional dots. Spray the flowers with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz and let dry. Sponge the petals with dries clear adhesive and sprinkle with glitter.

Adhere the leaves and flowers to the card base as shown using a hot glue gun.

Instructions: Card size is 6 1/4 x 4 1/4”. Score 8 1/2 x 6 1/4” white cardstock on the long side at 4 1/4” and fold to create card base. 

Outside of Card: Cut melon mambo cardstock 6 1/8 x 4 1/8” and adhere to the card base using dries clear adhesive.  Cut a 4 x 6” panel from the Oakberry Lane paper collection, ink the edges with Magenta Hue ink and adhere to the card base. Die cut the decorative tag from the Album Tags and Accents Die from white cardstock. Diecut the inside plain edge from paper from the collection, ink the edges and adhere to decorative diecut. Diecut a frame using the two dies together from white cardstock, sponge with dries clear adhesive, sprinkle with Crystal ultrafine transparent glitter and adhere to the decorative tag. Adhere decorative tag to card base using dimensional dots. Diecut the “A Gift For You” three times from white cardstock using the Ornamental Tags Die, adhere together, sponge with dries clear adhesive, sprinkle with crystal transparent 
glitter and adhere to the decorative tag. Adhere Swarovski crystals as shown. 

Stamp the Oakberry Lane Blossoms on Floral Cardstock using Archival Cactus Flower ink and color with Archival Magenta Hue ink. Stamp the Leafy Accents on white floral cardstock using Archival Olive Ink, color using Archival Leaf Green and Olive inks and diecut the blossoms and leaves using the coordinating dies. Place the flowers and leaves in the 3D Blossom Mold face down, spritz with water and run through the die cutting machine to shape. Finish off the blossoms by using the stylus from the deluxe flower shaping kit to press down in the middle. Adhere the flower petals together using dries clear adhesive. Use two petals the same size for the small blossoms and three petals for the medium and larger blossoms. (Use two the same size and one smaller.) Pierce the centers, insert the stamens and adhere the stamens using hot glue gun. Using a paintbrush, paint the flowers and leaves with Distress Crackle paint and sprinkle with Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter. Adhere the blossoms and leaves to the card base as shown using the hot glue gun. Use the Heat It tool to shrink any glue strings.

Inside of Card: Cut a piece of melon mambo cardstock 6 1/8 x 4 1/8” and adhere to inside of card. Create a pocket by cutting white cardstock 2 3/4 x 6 1/16”, diecut the top edge using the eyelet edge die from the Classic Borders die, add dries clear adhesive along the bottom and the two side edges and adhere as shown. Diecut paper from the collection using the plain edge Classics Borders die, ink the edges with Magenta Hue ink and adhere to the pocket. Diecut a tag from the paper collection using the Tickets and Tags die, ink the edges and stamp the sentiment. Diecut a mat layer from melon mambo cardstock and adhere the tag. Using a crop-a-dile, punch a hole in the tag and add an eyelet. Add ribbon as shown.
