Heartfelt Creations Vintage Suitcase

Welcome back!

Oh, I love the Young at Heart Collection...maybe because it describes me LOL!

Today I have a vintage suitcase to share with you.  I just want to pack my belongings in it and go on
a magical excursion!  Come along with me!

Other Products, Black 12” x 12” Metallic Cardstock, Pearl White 12” x 12” Metallic Cardstock, Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy Ink Pad, Black Textured Leather Look Cardstock, Brads, Distress Oxide Ink Soot Black. 

Instructions: Suit case is 4” x 8” x 2” deep. Top: Cut a piece of black metallic cardstock 6” x 10” and score at 1” on all sides.  Bottom:  Cut a piece of black metallic cardstock 12” x 8” and score at 2” on all sides.  Cut a slit on the score line on all of the corner squares and then small triangles on on corners.  Cut those corner squares off on one of the long sides of the top.  Burnish the folds on the score lines and adhere using Dries Clear Adhesive. Hold together with clips until the adhesive dries.  When dry, adhere the flap you created by cutting off the corner squares to the back of the bottom piece creating a top that lifts up.  

Bottom-12" x 8" scored at 2" on all sides

Top-6" x 10" scored at 1" on all sides

Fold and adhere the corner flaps

Fold and adhere the  front corner flaps

Adhere the long flap onto the back of the bottom piece





Cut the world map paper from the Young at Heart paper collection as follows: 2 pieces 3 7/8” x 7 7/8” each, 1 piece 7 7/8” x  7/8”, 2 pieces 1 7/8” x 3 7/8” each, 2 pieces 7/8” x 3 7/8” each, 2 pieces 1 7/8" x 7 7/8" 

Cut the Textured leather cardstock: 2 pieces 1/2” x 8” for the straps and 2 pieces 1/2” x 6 1/8” for the handle.  Adhere the 2 pieces for the handle together to form a stronger handle.  

Ink all of the edges of the designer paper with Distress Oxide Black Soot Ink and adhere to the base using Dries Clear Adhesive.  Adhere the straps and the handle as shown and embellish with the brads. Cut some of the tags from the paper collection and adhere to the suitcase.  

Stamp the  Tropical Plumeria Flowers with Pearlescent Jade Ink on white pearl metallic cardstock and color with Pearlescent Jade and Butter inks.  Use the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit to shape the flowers.  See how to shape the Tropical Plumeria here. (Insert Link) Add Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear to the flowers using a sponge and Dries Clear Adhesive and add Dries Clear Adhesive and Aqua Net Prills to the centers.

Stamp the leaves on white pearl cardstock with Pearlescent Ivy ink , color and shape with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  Add Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear using a sponge and Dries Clear Adhesive.  Adhere the flowers and the leaves to the suitcase as shown.
