Festive Lighted Lantern - Elizabeth Craft Designs

 Hi and Welcome!

Today I'm sharing a beautiful lantern I created using the dies from the Festive Holly collection by Angelic Turner. These lanterns can be made in so many different colors with so many different flowers for all seasons and occasions.

Diecut all the pieces for the Festive Lantern from Tim Holz metallic cardstock - Onyx. Cut pearlescent vellum to add to the inside of all the diecuts. Be sure to cut a "door" in the back panel. Fold and adhere all the panels together. I actually deepened all the score lines by placing the panels on my scoreboard and using the bone folder. That made it much easier to fold everything.

Diecut the flowers, the holly leaves and the pine branches from deep red, green and silver cardstock using the Poinsettia and Winter Greenery dies. Shape, adhere flowers together, add silver centers and adhere everything to the front of the lantern. Sponge a little dries white glue on the flowers and sprinkle with some chunky glitter to create a snowy look.

Tie a deep red bow and add a brad or a button to the center and adhere to the top of the lantern.

To finish it off, add a battery operated candle inside. Look how pretty it looks all lit up. I love it!

Today I created an elegant easel card with beautiful blue poinsettias Using the Festive Holly Collection designs by Angelica 'Turner. Why blue? Because when you're creating, your flowers can be any color you want them to be. Using the decorative dies from the same set, cut from white and silver cardstock. Adhere the silver behind the white, slightly offset to create a silver shadow. Adhere the decorative diecuts to the card base as shown.

The center diecuts are adhered using dimensionals.

Cut holly leaves from Soft Finish Cardstock, color and shape.Cut poinsettias from blue cardstock, shape, assemble, and add stamens to the centers. Cut the Festive Greenery from silver cardstock and lightly shape. Create a floral cluster on the front of the card base.

Stamp sentiment on white cardstock using VersaMark, cover with silver embossing powder and heat set. Cut sentiment and sliver layer using Layered Labels. Adhere to inside to create a stop for the easel and add three more poinsettias with holly leaves around the sentiment.
